Cast elastomers in particular - belong to the group of plastics that have been attracting a lot of attention for years due to their functional properties. They are characterized by good flexibility in a wide range of hardnesses, exceptionally high resistance to abrasion, tearing and multiple bending. In addition, they are characterized by good tensile strength, the ability to damp vibrations and shocks, elasticity, low volumetric compressibility and density. In addition, polyurethane elastomers are also characterized by high resistance at room temperature to such chemicals as, among others: diluted inorganic acids and alkalis, oils, greases and liquid fuels. Elastomers are also resistant to cold and hot water, but will undergo hydrolytic degradation in hot water. In terms of thermal resistance, polyurethane elastomers are inferior to rubbers, and products made of them can be used in the temperature range -30 ° C - + 80 ° C. Short-term operation at a temperature of +120 ° C is permissible. Polyurethane elastomers are good dielectrics, especially at room temperature. Since elastomers are insulators, attention should be paid to the phenomenon of static electricity and the possibility of electrostatic charges accumulating on the surface of polyurethane products. This phenomenon can be largely limited by the appropriate selection of material, which we do at the customer's request. The wide use of polyurethane elastomers is facilitated by the possibility of changing and regulating a wide range of physical, mechanical and chemical properties by qualitative and quantitative modification of the substrates. The elastomers we manufacture can be easily colored in mass, practically in any color. Due to these features, elastomers displace traditional materials such as rubber, metals and ceramics.
Polyurethane elastomers are a group of polyurethanes used in the form of solid layers. Due to the fact that they arise from a multi-component connection, it is possible to pre-program the properties of the obtained material. Depending on the physicochemical and strength parameters set by the customer, the appropriate polyurethane material and additives can be selected.
